Udemy Course #1: Analysing Tweets using R

People around the globe make over 500 million tweets per day. So, one can only imagine the sheer volume of data available with Twitter. This data is a treasure trove of information. However, one needs to know how to gather this data and then conduct the needed analysis.

This course provides all the information regarding

  1. How to gather data from Twitter using R Programming
  2. How to conduct basic analysis of the data gathered from Twitter
  3. How to extract the Emotion expressed in the Tweets gathered

We will use R Programming throughout this course. Thus, this course requires that the participants are conversant with R Programming.

If you prefer any other programming language (like. Python, etc.), then you can use this course to learn all the nuances of analysing Twitter Data and apply the same in programming in your language of. preference.

Udemy Course #2: Understanding S.M.A.R.T. Objectives

Everyone sets up Objectives; whether in Corporate Life or in Personal Life. However, Objectives need to be well-defined so that it makes a difference in one’s life.

Well-defined Objectives need to be S.M.A.R.T.. So, what are S.M.A.R.T. Objectives. Learn all about it in this course.

Understanding S.M.A.R.T. Objectives” takes you through a journey encompassing:

1. Discussion on what are S.M.A.R.T. Objectives.

2. How to define S.M.A.R.T. Objectives?

3. How to implement S.M.A.R.T. Objectives in the Corporate World?

Udemy Course #3: Learning Application of R: Part 1 of 3 (Emotion Analysis)

In this course series, application developed using R language are discussed. We will cover topics from simple applications like creating Word Clouds to complex applications like Emotion Analysis, Churn Management, Stock Market Prediction, etc. All the applications discussed in the course have been developed through research by me. All the products discussed are being used for different organisational operations in my company and/or by our Customers.

The course start with discussing simple applications through which concepts and applications of supporting tools including R Language features. Tools like knitR, Shiny, etc are discussed. The goal is to develop a concept into an Algorithm and end with developing a Data Product which could be released for consumption in the Market.  We will discuss how to publish the Data Products so that it could be available to everyone on the Internet.

Though this course provides a primer on R Programming, it is highly desirable that the Learner has a reasonably good exposure to R Programming. The learner is expected to have installed tools using which R Programming could be conducted. In case, the Learner needs help with getting started with R Programming, they could go through the course “Learning R through an Example”.

The course is broken into 3 parts. In each part,1 or more main application is discussed.

In this part, i.e. Part 1, Emotion Analysis is the topic of discussion.

The discussion on Emotion Analysis starts with understanding Sentiment Analysis and then proceeds to Emotion Analysis. The needed concepts of Sentiment Analysis and Emotion Analysis are discussed. The different libraries available in R Language is exposed. The course ends with developing a Data Product for Emotion Analysis.

Udemy Course #4: Understanding Business Canvas

To create a successful business, strong foundation is essential. One element of a strong Business Foundation is the planning and design of the Business. A winning Business Design can be created using Business Canvas.

Business Canvas provides a mechanism to think of a potential Business in an organised manner. However, to use Business Canvas correctly for the best results, it is important to understand its elements very thoroughly.

This course explain how to create a Business Canvas through a Real Life Example of a Business that is doing reasonably well. The course deals with what needs doing before a Business Canvas can be created. And also, what needs doing after a Business Canvas has been created to create the full blown Business Case.

Udemy Course #5: Making Numerical Predictions for Time Series Data – Part 1/3

Predictive analytics is the branch of the advanced analytics which is used to make predictions about unknown future events. Predictive analytics uses many techniques from data mining, statistics, modelling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to analyse current data to make predictions about future.

One class of Predictive Analytics is to make prediction on Time Series Data. Studying historical data, collected over a period of time, can help in building models using which future can be predicted. For example, from historical data on Temperatures in a City, we can make decent predictions of what the Temperature could be in a future date. Or for that matter, from data collected over a reasonably long period of time regarding various life style aspects of a Diabetic patient, we can predict what should be the volume of Insulin to inject on a given date in future. One example to consider from the Business world could be to predict the Volume of In-Roamers in a Telecom Network in any given period of time in the future from the historical details of In-Roamers in the Network.

The applications are just innumerable as these are applicable in every sphere of business and life.

In this course, we go through various aspects of building Predictive Analytics Models. We start with simple techniques and gradually study very advanced and contemporary techniques. We cover using Descriptive Statistics, Moving Averages, Regressions, Machine Learning and Neural Networks.

This course is a series of 3 parts.

  • In Part 1, we use Excel to make Numerical Predictions from Time Series Data.

We start by using Excel for 2 reasons.

  1. Excel is easy use and thus we can understand complex concepts through exercises that are easy to replicate and thus become easy to understand.
  2. Excel is expected to be available with everyone taking this course.
  • In Part 2, we use R Programming to make Numerical Predictions from Time Series Data.
  • In Part 3, we use Python Programming to make Numerical Predictions from Time Series Data.

The course uses simple data sets to explain the concepts and the theory aspects. As we go through the various techniques, we compare the various techniques. We also understand the circumstances where a particular technique should be applied. We will also use some publicly available data sets to apply the techniques that we will discuss in the course.

From time to time, we will add bonus videos of our real time work on industrial data on which we will apply the Predictive Analytics techniques to create Models for making predictions.

Udemy Course #6: Mastering Mutual Fund Investment – Part 1 of 3

In this world, where interest rates are ever decreasing and inflation is ever increasing, it has become almost absolutely necessary to take some risk and invest in the Stock Market to be able to save enough for the retirement. However, investing directly in the Stock Market requires a lot of time and effort and above all knowledge. And this is why, it is probably too risky for the small investors to invest directly in the Stock Market.

A much safer way to invest in the Stock Market is through Mutual Funds. Investing in Mutual Funds requires far less amount of effort on the part of the Investor and is much less risky as these funds are managed by Professionals. Further, as many Investors pool in their money in each Mutual Fund, the chances of getting higher returns is much superior due to the ultimate size of the Investment.

This course series – Mastering Mutual Fund Investment – discusses all that you need to know about Mutual Funds and Investing in Mutual Funds. Whether you are a beginner, just about starting to invest your money OR you are an experienced Investor, you will find this course useful as it discusses all the nuances for making the right choice of investing in Mutual Funds to maximise returns at the minimum risk.

In the first part of the course series, we discuss the minimum essential knowledge one needs having about Mutual Funds. We discuss what are Mutual Funds and what are their types, what are the investment options, etc. Also, we take a look at plethora of essential terms one needs knowing about investing in Mutual Funds.

I got the motivation to create this course when a fellow entrepreneur asked me what he should do with Rs. 50 lakhs he received from a project. He further stated that he would like monthly returns from the investment. I advised him as to how the money could be invested and I advised him to park a large part of it in Mutual Funds. He is very happy with his investment for the past 1 year. However, helping him regularly with this investment lead me to think that there would be many like him who have less or no idea regarding investing in Mutual Funds. So, I have created this course. Hopefully, it will be helpful for all of you as well.

Udemy Course #7: Mastering Mutual Fund Investment – Part 2 of 3

This course is the second in the series of 3 courses. This course explores the different Indicators and Metrics available for evaluating Mutual Funds. Studying these Indicators and Metrics can provide knowledge of what could be the future potential of the particular Mutual Fund. Based on that finding, investments in particular Mutual Funds can be planned by the Investors.

Udemy Course #8: Mastering Mutual Fund Investment – Part 3 of 3

This course is the third in the series of 3 courses. This course explores the nuances of forming Portfolios of Mutual Funds. Prior to discussions on Portfolio creation, this course takes a deep dive into evaluating individual Mutual Funds beyond the Indicators and Metrics. Piotroski’s F-Score, Mohanram G-Score is explained in the course and how to apply the same is also discussed.
