In Siemens, I was part of the Telecom Division. We primarily created solutions for Telecom Operators. However, when this market was drying up, I had to venture into other domains where we could use our Telecom Solutions. One of the groups I associated with was the Security Division of Siemens.
During my study to find fitment of our solutions for this division, I found that they were working on prevention of security threats. The problem to security of a premise was that we needed devising solutions which could prevent a possible perpetrator from causing damage before he/she could enter the premises. We can prevent perpetrators from entering a premise by having access control at the gates. However, how do you prevent a suicide bomber from exploding himself /herself at the gate of the premises?
